Rated Match Policy

On 15th March 2017, the UKBGF adopted its official results policy PDF, which is designed to establish a standard for the quality of results posted to this site.

The UKBGF policy is supplemented by local policies, which give club managers the freedom to define local rules that work for the way their events are run.

The manager for Brighton data on this site is Wayne Joseph.

The local policy for Brighton is as follows:

The results of all Brighton Backgammon Club (BBC) tournament matches are recorded and contribute to individual players’ UKBGF ratings by default. Any unfinished, forfeited and cancelled matches are not eligible.

At BBC we would like to give those spare players that do turn up an option to play a 'meaningful' match, especially near season end when there is a very small number of league official league fixtures left to be played

It is unknown precisely who will turn up for our meetings in advance, or how many spare players there will be on the actual night.

Any players wishing to play rated matches will be entered into a draw.

When they have completed their rated match, if they wish to continue playing rated matches, there is a re-draw to establish their next opponent from the pool of spare players.

N.B. Their is no enforced lower bound on numbers but at at BBC we will aim for a minimum of 3 spare players for any draw.

Players not wishing to play rated matches can arrange matches as they please with each other.
