Rated Match Policy

On 15th March 2017, the UKBGF adopted its official results policy PDF, which is designed to establish a standard for the quality of results posted to this site.

The UKBGF policy is supplemented by local policies, which give club managers the freedom to define local rules that work for the way their events are run.

The manager for Greenwich data on this site is Graham Ross.

The local policy for Greenwich is as follows:

  1. The result of all matches played during the monthly club evenings, including any played as part of a tournament at the club, must be reported to the club Captain (Graham Ross)  and will contribute to the players’ UKBGF ratings.
  2. All non-tournament matches will be played to 5 points.
  3. Matches cannot be arranged by players but must be either selected, or approved, by the club Captain.
  4. No matches played other than on club nights will contribute to the UKBGF ratings.
  5. Should a match be unfinished by close of the club night, one  last move must be made and one player must send to the club Captain a photo of the Board and score. The game must be re-commenced at the next occasion both players attend a club night.
  6. A score card should be used for each match and signed by both players when the match has finished.
  7. Should any player fail to sign a score card, the club Captain, following representations from  both players, will either decide the result or refuse to record any result.
  8. Should there be disagreement between players during a match over the impact of the rules of Backgammon, the dispute must immediately be referred to the club Captain with explanations of their positions made to him by  both parties whereupon the club Captain will make a ruling with which both players must then comply.
  9. Should there be conflict between these club rules and the general policy rules of UKBGF then the latter shall prevail.
